We at HCHC Family Health Organization are committed to helping you in all aspects of your care.  We have an extensive Mental Health program that can be accessed by all patients that are enrolled with a physician here in the office!

During COVID-19, the Ontario Government has partnered with two Digital Therapy services:

Mind Beacon -  www.mindbeacon.com

Bounce Back - www.bouncebackontario.ca

As our office services are in high demand, increasing wait times, we ask you to consider using one of these great services to avoid the wait!

Mental Health Walk-In Procedure

Once the referral is obtained, ON TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, and THURSDAY between 9:30am and 11:30am ONLY, please call the office main line 905-529-5221 and choose option #2 to speak to Mental Health to be added to the afternoon schedule.

Mental Health is a SELF-INITIATED program. First you must see or speak to your doctor and get a referral started.

From there, you have two options for General Mental Health:

  1. You can attend the Mental Health Walk-in after seeing your physician. This is the fastest way to access services and is what we highly recommend. After your initial visit, you will be scheduled for any follow-up needed.

  2. You can take your paper referral to the front desk in suite M1B to book an appointment with a mental health counselor. Wait times can vary from 6-8 weeks if you choose this method.

For Child and Youth Mental Health you must attend the walk-in to access services (hours are listed on the reverse). Initial assessments will not be booked with the counselor due to the high rate of no shows.

With both General and Child and Youth, the office WILL NOT CONTACT YOU to book an appointment. It is the patient’s responsibility to either attend walk-in or book an appointment. The office will not follow this referral.

In case of Emergency please call COAST on their 24-hour Crisis Line at (905) 972-8338 or go to McMaster Hospital for Emergency Mental Health Services.

It is recommended that you call ahead to ensure that there are no disruptions to walk-in service. This can be confirmed by calling the office at

(905) 529-5221 ext. 2
